Our verdict

Powerful, but legally more moped than e-bike.

The biggest battery and highest speed here, with hydraulic brakes — but at 38 mph it's well outside U.S. e-bike classes.

Ideal for

Private land and riders who understand moped rules where they live.

Skip it if

Bike paths, commuters or anyone who needs a street-legal e-bike.

In-depth review

What it's like to own

The RetroVolt Pro is the extreme end of our catalog: a 52 V 20 Ah (1,040 Wh) battery, 120 Nm and a claimed 38 mph, with dual suspension and hydraulic brakes. Range claims run to 90 miles in pedal assist.

At 38 mph it isn't a Class 1–3 e-bike; most states would treat it as a moped needing registration, and many paths ban it. The rating spread is the weakest here (14% three-star), with complaints focused on specific components.

Sold by Jasion's store with a 1-year warranty.

Pros

  • 1,040 Wh battery
  • Hydraulic brakes
  • Dual suspension

Cons

  • 38 mph — not a legal e-bike in most states
  • Weaker rating spread
  • Heavy
