How we rate

Seven scores. Same rules for every model.

Every e-bike gets a 0–10 score on motor and speed, battery, ride comfort, portability, brakes and safety, build and support, and value. Battery comes straight from the spec sheet on a fixed scale, so a 7 means the same thing on every page. The rest are editorial calls based on components, certifications, warranty and what owners report after months of riding.

Where Amazon's listing is missing a spec, we check the manufacturer or a reputable retailer. If we can't verify it, we show a dash. We never guess.

Read our full methodology
  1. Spec sheet, normalized. Every listing is converted to the same units: watts, Wh, mph, miles, inches, pounds.
  2. Owner reviews, read. We summarize what verified buyers say, the good and the bad.
  3. Claims, checked. Peak watts, "up to" range and top speeds get a reality check, and we flag bikes that exceed U.S. e-bike class limits.
  4. Side by side. The comparator highlights the best value in every row.
