What it's like to own
The R1 is built for short city trips and mixed commutes. At 45 lb with a quick fold to 37 × 18 × 28 in, it's the one bike in our catalog most people can actually lift into a car trunk or up a flight of stairs.
The trade-off is power and range. A 350 W motor tops out at 20 mph and the 374 Wh battery is small; plan on 15–25 real-world miles. There's no suspension, so the 2.6 in tires do the cushioning.
It's UL 2849 certified and shipped and sold by Amazon, which makes returns easy. Owners like the build quality for the price; the warranty is short (180 days) though Gotrax offers a year of parts support.
